November - The Month of Men
Back in 2006 I was just ending my first job as engineer and having had a whole full year of experience I hopped into my father’s big car and drove to a mediator who happen to have a job at a company known as TRIDEC.
I never heard of it as up to that day I only engineered pig roasters but hey it was worth a shot, the mediator told me it was near the Ikea and drove with me to meet the COO.
The good man in all his Australian charm was quick to offer me a one-year contract which I happily accepted.
After all these years I’ve been steadily improving myself and the process to get where we are now, and I sure as heck mastered TD steering systems.
In 2017 it was announced that our IT employee would leave, at that time IT NL would be completely handed over to IT Germany I deducted that there has to be someone here who can do some physical work as I doubted that there would be anyone willingly driving from Germany to TRIDEC every time some handy work needed to be done.
So of course I did an open solicitation that I would be willing to do this work, and as luck would have it, the head of the IT team was in Son in that week, so a quick talk was had and there we went, a week later I could call myself Engineer with IT side job.
In these years I’ve seen many people come and go, had different bosses and managers and have seen many changes, some good, some less good however I can honestly say that the team that I am surrounded with these days is the best that I have had around me all these years so to all of them and specifically Sales and Sales engineering I would like to say “thank you all, you are great!”
I have to say I was a bit although pleasantly surprised by the fact that there is some attention Men’s Day this year, seeing that Women’s day was celebrated (with good reason and well deserved) a few years already.
It’s good that in this polarizing world we look at both sides of the spectrum and celebrate what we have.
So, to all the men in TRIDEC, make it a great one!
Hello, my name is Juan Francisco Aponte Arteaga.
My journey at TRIDEC began in 2004 where I was hired to start robotic welding.
At that time, we only had one XRC robot cell. I remember my first program: Frame 980-140. It was then that our growth began, both for the company and for me, on a personal and professional level.
I have already shared my knowledge as a trainer of many colleagues, and it is very satisfying to be able to see the evolution and growth of each one of us.
Thank you.
My name is Gabriel Coimbra, I'm from Tondela, I'm 47 years old, married and father of two boys aged 12 and 16.
I’m the Operational Director of TRIDEC since May 2020, having started at TRIDEC in May 2015 as head of Engineering Department.
My professional experience has always been linked to metalworking, most of the time in production and continuous improvement. This “background” allowed me to understand the manufacturing processes, as well as understand the point of view of the various sectors of a company.
The most important lesson from my professional career is that you cannot achieve your goals without the right people, motivated, positive and, above all, passionate about what they do. At TRIDEC we have this, it is clearly our greatest asset; With this positive energy at TRIDEC, we will be better and better and we will be an example, as THE company to follow.
This message is a way of expressing my gratitude to all the men who, every day, do their best to achieve this goal.
Thanks everyone
My name is Leon van Cuijk and I have been working as a documentation engineer at TRIDEC since July 2023.
I am the proud father of a 19-year-old daughter studying in Amsterdam. I was born and raised in Heerlen but have been living in Roermond for 25 years. In my spare time I am very interested in art and culture, so I regularly visit museums. I enjoy walking and reading, doing Yoga and Do-In and watching movies.
Women's Day/Men's Day, personally I don't have much to do with it because I assume that everyone is equal, but history and reality teaches us that this is not always the case in business. So still good that we pay attention to it.
I have a bachelor's degree in product design/development and have had several positions in my career including manufacturing, R&D and education. I feel comfortable in creating documentation because the combination of my work experience is very useful in my work. I understand how to make something and how to explain how to make it, this combined with a piece of creativity to make it a suitable document.
I like working at TRIDEC because I have many nice colleagues to work with. It is not a problem to ask questions if you want to discuss something and people are eager to help each other.
When I joined TRIDEC I did not know the company but over time I have become familiar with the products we produce and like it when I come across trucks with trailers in which I see our products.
Hello colleagues,
My name is Edmundo Rosário, I am a Production Specialist and Welding Coordinator.
I have the pleasure of working at TRIDEC for 20 years.
Welding and Production have always been part of my day-to-day life at TRIDEC. The trip has been challenging and enriching, the obstacles of Production are my focus, as well as the training of colleagues.
TRIDEC gave me the opportunity to learn and later teach colleagues what I learned; I gained friends, stability and appreciation that is undoubtedly mutual.
We have grown together and I hope to continue to learn and feel an asset at TRIDEC.
A journey full of passion and work: my story at TRIDEC
My name is Massimo Simbula, and my adventure at TRIDEC began on December 6, 2006. Before coming here, I had already diverse careers: from the IT sector to healthcare. Don't ask me why I changed sectors so many times - I honestly don't even know myself! Every time something piques my curiosity, I dive in with enthusiasm, and sometimes that curiosity turns into a new job.
Besides my working life, I have always had many passions. Sports, for example, have been a part of my life since I was five years old. In recent years, however, I had to take a step back to listen to my body, which indicated with some joint pain that a break would be wise. Animals are also close to my heart: I've always had dogs and cats, and I can't really imagine my home without a pet. I currently share my life with Luna, a sweet two-and-a-half-year-old French bulldog.
Oh yes, I am happily married to Leo. We have a beautiful daughter and are the proud grandparents of two grandsons. And soon our family will be even bigger, because the third grandchild - a granddaughter - is on the way!
Music is also a great passion of mine. At the age of ten I started music lessons, and for many years I played various instruments in a small orchestra and in the village brass band. In recent years I have focused more on singing, and I find it a new, fascinating way to express myself.
Meanwhile, TRIDEC has changed tremendously. Because I came from a different sector, it wasn't love at first sight at first. But the warmth and friendliness of my colleagues, the family-like atmosphere in the workplace, soon made me feel at home. Today, I am proud to be part of a company that makes unique, technologically advanced products. TRIDEC has always supported me, even in the less fun moments, and has given me the space to grow both personally and professionally.
Being at TRIDEC is a journey that has brought me a lot and allows me to be myself every day.
Hello everyone,
I'm André, I'm 43 years old, I consider myself a rigorous, organized and equitable person, I don't like cabbage, but I love caldo verde, I love to socialize and I hate waiting.
My professional career began at TRIDEC at the age of 22, without any gray hair in May 2003 as a support service worker, more specifically I cleaned the drips of the welds of parts. I remember my 1st job interview in which at the end, I was asked how much I would like to earn, and I humbly replied, "it's what you can give me...", two days later I started my first job and a long journey at TRIDEC. Months later I moved on to the bending machine, and later to the forklift, here I was given the task of moving the parts within the company and supplying the workstations with material.
In September 2005, I left TRIDEC, due to an opportunity to take a training in Hygiene and Safety at work, I returned 1 year later to do an internship, and even before starting this I was invited to join the Quality department, which I readily accepted, due to the challenge and rigor with which I identify. Being a completely new area for me, I needed to acquire knowledge and enrolled in an after-work technological specialization course in "Quality Management" at ESTGA. A year of "walking" every day to Águeda after work, I finished this and did an internship again at TRIDEC, reconciling it with work.
I am currently a quality control technician and I have been in this role for 18 years!
I had the privilege of growing at TRIDEC, and seeing TRIDEC grow!

As we approach International Men’s Day on November 19th, I’m inspired to reflect on the importance of integrity, health, and positive role models in young men’s lives. For the past two years at TRIDEC, I’ve been working in R&D department, a role that has encouraged curiosity and innovation. Starting in January, I’m excited to take on a new challenge in New Business Development, where I’ll bring the same commitment to growth and collaboration.
Outside of work, I strive to embody these values through my personal pursuits. As an assistant coach for the Trinitas U17 football team, I have the opportunity to guide young athletes in teamwork, resilience, and discipline. My love for climbing connects me with nature and pushes my limits, while my background in martial arts has given me a sense of spirituality and focus that impacts every aspect of my life.
At TRIDEC, we prioritize well-being, fostering a supportive environment where personal and professional development thrive. This International Men’s Day, I’m proud to work with a team that values integrity and balance, and I look forward to being a role model not only for my colleagues but also for the next generation. Let’s celebrate November 19th as a reminder to lead lives rooted in health, integrity, and mentorship, making a positive impact in our communities and beyond.
Hello, I’m Cláudio Cardoso, Department Head of Production, I'm 44 years old and many years of experience in metalworking.
I started at TRIDEC in 2003 as a welder, I already had some experience because «I grew up in the middle of iron». I was a young man, I had been a father for a few months and I needed a professional challenge.
At TRIDEC I found this challenge that I grabbed, because TRIDEC was a company with a good structure and that allowed professional and personal growth.
Over the last 21 years I have been given the opportunity to grow with training, fairs, trips, and challenges after challenges. Sometimes I made mistakes, but with mistakes I grew and learned.
I am grateful to TRIDEC, to this fantastic team that in one way or another has supported me and helped me to be who I am and what I am.
Thank you to everyone who helps me day after day to improve my English :)
May this short text encourage all the men in this company to be persistent and not give up on their goal.
